Hey there, I'm Krysta, and the things you need to know about me are few. Think of me as your Yoda! Know that I'm there beside from the time that you book with me and throughout your most amazing wedding day, know that I have your back, and that I will be making you smile, cracking jokes and having fun right along side you for the whole day.
As for my photography style, I am a documentarian (I know it's not an actual word) but it really best describes me as a photographer. I want to capture your day in the most authentic way, capturing every detail, every smile and every tear of joy. I have over 14 years of experience documenting weddings of different faiths, traditions, timelines and themes. I know what works, how to make your day incredibly efficient and can give you so much added value with this knowledge.
I don't pose, I direct. I LOVE movement in my photographs, I'll place you in a way that I want and then give you prompts, get you talking and get you moving. I'll guide you through each photo to capture your true smiles, the twinkle in your eyes and the pure love you have for each other. The only time we'll ever do the cheesy poses is during the "Family Portraits" where it's kind of necessary but I still always go for a fun shot while doing these too.
My editing style is natural, timeless and elegant. I know that you put a lot of time, money and energy to make your wedding what it is and in choosing your colours, I don't want to take that away through heavy editing and filters. My editing style adds a bit of film look while keeping skin tones and colours natural and perfect!
I am a total creative and love looking for the perfect light, composition and landscapes to truly reflect your love and style. Bad weather or light doesn't scare me, their are always ways around it and I will take quick actions to ensure we get ample coverage of your day no matter the weather or the lighting conditions.
Here's an exact excerpt from one of my amazing brides that I photographed this past season:
"Before we even sat down to meet and interview Krysta as a potential photographer for our wedding, she showed her exceptional organizational skills. She maintained the ability to stay on top of things every day after, even sending us our Sneak Peek photos the day after our wedding (we were prepared to receive them within 1-2 weeks!). Krysta has great communication and is not afraid to take control while staying professional. Family Photos can be a nightmare with guests running off, but Krysta had us working with whomever was ready and we got everything done in great time! Working with Krysta during our Bridal Portraits, she was so easy to just be yourself around. My husband and I are not necessarily "camera shy" but not over-the-top outgoing either and Krysta talked us through the entire shoot in a positive and radiant way. We truly couldn't have hoped for anyone else to have been there to capture such a special and momentous day with us! If you're looking for high-quality, high-energy and an overall phenomenal experience, Krysta Gorman is your girl!"
Me in a nutshell: I live to create, whether it's through photography or music. I'm a wife, daughter (only child), doggy mama, photographer, singer and adventure seeker.
"Krysta went above and beyond my expectations. She was extremely professional, organized and dedicated. Not to mention incredibly talented."

HELPFUL TIPS
I honestly forget how I met Wayne, I feel like I've known him my whole life but it's only been a couple of years. I know his wife as she makes my dogs look pretty but I think he and I met maybe through Instagram. Regardless, we hit it off right away and became fast friends and colleagues. He and I have worked together on several weddings, projects and events. His cinematic films are the perfect compliment to my style and galleries that I deliver to my clients. If cinematography is in your budget I highly recommend booking Wayne for your special day.
More about Wayne...
According to him, a great night for Wayne is a good movie, cold glass of milk and freshly baked Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies.
Working in mainstream media throughout his life, he's always held a camera in tow.
With his vibrant personality and infectious smile it's no surprise that in his
previous career he was a T.V. and Radio personality.
Film making is about the art for him, it's about making a wedding film which
tells your authentic story.
Vendors I Love
A: I first fell in love with photography when I was 18 and visiting my Grandma in Vancouver who is a well know, published photographer. We spent many hours in her studio and dark room together learning the ins and outs of photography and my love and interest was ignited. I took several photography courses while attending college and further honed my skills. After my first wedding 14 years ago I was hooked and have continually built my business on a part-time basis over the years since documenting my very first wedding! My business had gotten so big that in 2018, I made the decision to leave my full time position with the provincial government to pursue my photography full time and dedicate my life to documenting peoples love stories. It was the greatest decision that I ever made!
A: I've photographed over 400 weddings as lead photographer, and I've had over 1,000 portrait sessions. Since there's only 52 weekends in a year, my weekends have basically been filled with love stories and late-night celebrations ever since I became a photographer 10+ years ago!
A: Personally, I only recommend this option for getting ready photos and weddings that need added coverage. I work with a few amazing photographers who will assist me in getting you that optimal coverage on your wedding day. I can say though that with over 14 years and over 300 weddings under my belt 90% of the time I am solo and every single couple I have ever worked with has been 100% happy.
A: I HIGHLY recommend doing an engagement session! It gives us time to get to know each other on a deeper level. Most of my clients claim to be uncomfortable in front of the camera, I get it, I am too. Your engagement session will help you get through all of those nerves, and open you up to seeing how fun it can actually be! When it comes to photography I do more than just take photos, I give you a space to re-connect with eachother, to have a couple hours of fun exploring cool locations and to gain trust in seeing how awesome your day will be documented. Plus you get some incredible images for your wedding website, social media, save the dates, prints ect. ect.
A: This might start by getting a bit technical, but I personally use 2 x Nikon D750 full frame cameras with 4 different lenses. Both are literally on me at all times throughout your wedding day so I never have to worry about changing lenses, switching memory cards, or changing batteries. Both of my cameras also have dual SD card slots and one is always set to back up every image i take n the event one of the cards fails. This way I will never lose a weddings images.
A: Totally! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this us done & ordered right through your online gallery!
A: Yes, I do! Traditional payments are 50% due at the time of booking (within a week) and the final 50% is due 30 days prior to your wedding day. But, if you wanted to do the payment plan, I can stretch it into equal 1/3's or 1/4's if that works best for you. Just let me know what you prefer, and I will make it happen.
It's that easy!
A: Love this question the most! To book me for your special day, simply let me know which collection you want
or what items you want included in your custom collection:
- Number of hours of coverage
- Second photographer or none (optional)
- Engagement session (optional)
- If you need a payment plan option
A: I want to make sure you are seeing your amazing photos as soon as humanly possible. I do my best to get you a sneak peek of images within the first 48 hours post wedding day of 5-10 images to share on social media and to see first hand how amazing the rest of your gallery will be! The final gallery turn around time for a wedding is typically 2-4 weeks. For engagement sessions, the turn around time is 1-2 weeks.
No distance is too far. I love to travel.
Let's make it happen.
